Job Title

Analog Design Engineer Intern

Role Summary

Work alongside senior engineers to support the design, simulation, layout, and testing of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits (amplifiers, filters, data converters). The role is a hands-on internship focused on practical IC development tasks and learning industry tools and processes.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship. Intended for students or early-career candidates; no prior professional experience required.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities while supporting senior engineers on analog/mixed-signal IC projects.

  • Assist in design and simulation of analog circuits (amplifiers, filters) using SPICE and Cadence tools.
  • Support IC layout activities to help optimize performance and manufacturability.
  • Perform lab testing and measurements using oscilloscopes, function generators, and test equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineering team to troubleshoot and resolve design issues.
  • Document test results and contribute to design reviews and technical discussions.
  • Travel occasionally (up to ~10%) for lab access, validation, or cross-site collaboration.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes for the internship.

  • Basic understanding of analog circuit concepts (amplifiers, filters) and ability to assist in circuit design.
  • Introductory exposure to mixed-signal IC concepts and integration of analog and digital components.
  • Familiarity with simulation tools (SPICE) to model circuit behavior.
  • Initial experience or coursework in IC layout principles and CMOS technology.
  • Basic knowledge of ADCs and data conversion concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; effective written and verbal communication.
  • Note: Some roles may require export licensing review for non-U.S. citizens or non-permanent residents.

Education Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Coursework or project experience in analog circuit design and simulation is expected.
