Job Title
Analog Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits for automated test equipment (ATE). Work on high-density, low-power solutions across mixed voltage and mixed-gate-process technologies as part of a collaborative IC design team.
This is an early-career, hands-on engineering role with mentorship from senior engineers. The position is full-time and onsite in San Diego, CA.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Early Career β typically 2+ years of professional analog design experience.
Responsibilities
Key technical responsibilities include design, simulation, and validation of precision analog and mixed-signal circuits for ATE applications.
- Schematic design and circuit simulation for high-speed and precision analog ATE blocks.
- Perform layout, pre-placement and post-layout simulation, and run LVS/DRC/ERC checks.
- Run Monte Carlo and process-corner analysis; mixed-signal chip-level simulation.
- Develop circuit architectures to optimize power, performance, and density; focus on power-efficient, high-precision designs.
- Support IC characterization and test development to qualify devices for ATE-specific parameters and use conditions.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, test, and applications teams to transfer designs into production and testing flows.
Requirements
Concise list of required skills and preferred additional qualifications.
-
Must-have: At least 2 years in an analog design role; experience designing precision analog blocks with tapeout exposure; solid analog CMOS circuit design fundamentals; control theory and feedback loop design including stability and compensation analysis; proficiency with Cadence or Mentor Graphics and running LVS/DRC/ERC; behavioral modeling for chip-level simulation; programming in Verilog/Verilog-A, C/C++, and Python; understanding of the IC design, qualification, and manufacturing cycle; ability to work cross-functionally.
-
Nice-to-have: High-voltage (100V+) and mixed-voltage multi-rail design experience; high-speed multi-Gbps circuit design; BiCMOS process experience; ATE-specific experience; signal processing background.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field (the posting lists Bachelor's degree or a Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field).
