Analog Circuit Design Engineer (Graduate Intern)

Role Summary

Graduate intern on a circuit design team contributing to design, simulation, verification, and validation of analog and/or digital integrated circuits. Work includes schematic entry, timing and power/performance/area optimization, signal/power integrity analysis, and hardware validation in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Experience Level

Entry-level — Graduate intern / student position (no prior professional years-of-experience required).

Responsibilities

Day-to-day tasks include circuit design activities, simulation, verification, and hands-on validation to ensure robust implementation and integration.

  • Assist in designing, simulating, and verifying digital and/or analog circuits to meet performance targets.
  • Contribute to schematic entry, timing analysis, and power/performance/area optimization.
  • Perform noise, glitch, and signal/power integrity analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement low-power and high-performance solutions.
  • Debug designs, run hardware simulations, and perform circuit testing to validate functionality.
  • Use EDA tools for simulation, floor planning, and clock gating tasks.
  • Apply semiconductor device physics knowledge to analyze circuit tradeoffs.
  • Contribute to process and methodology improvements through continuous learning.

Requirements

Must-have:

  • Proficiency in digital and/or analog circuit design principles and fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience or familiarity with EDA tools, including circuit simulation and verification tools.
  • Knowledge of CMOS technologies and microarchitecture fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with power and performance analysis and optimization techniques.
  • Understanding of signal and power integrity concepts.

Nice-to-have:

  • Analytical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication for team collaboration.
  • Exposure to debugging complex hardware systems and disciplined technical execution.

Education Requirements

Must be currently pursuing a Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. The posting references coursework or experience in semiconductor device physics.
