Job Title

Analog Circuit Design Engineer

Role Summary

Join a high-speed IO analog design team building next-generation memory interface PHYs and other mixed-signal IP for advanced process nodes. The role focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing high-speed analog circuits to meet power, performance, area, timing, and yield targets.

The engineer will work with cross-functional teams (architecture, layout, validation) to deliver silicon-ready designs and support post-silicon debug and high-volume manufacturing.

Experience Level

Senior. Typical guidance from the posting: 13+ years with a Master’s degree, or 6+ years with a PhD; equivalent practical experience also considered.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include circuit design, validation, and collaboration across design and manufacturing teams.

  • Design, develop, and implement high-speed analog circuits for advanced process nodes.
  • Perform circuit simulation, parameter extraction, and create behavioral models.
  • Optimize circuits for power, performance, area, timing, and yield.
  • Develop and execute test plans to verify designs against microarchitecture specifications; analyze test results for validation.
  • Collaborate with architecture, layout, and cross-functional teams to define specifications and resolve design issues.
  • Participate in layout reviews and ensure proper placement and routing considerations.
  • Support post-silicon debug, electrical validation, and correlation of measurements to simulations.
  • Improve design methodologies and processes to enhance turnaround time and design quality.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience (education details are listed separately below).

  • Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, PrimeSim, HSPICE, ADE, and Custom Compiler.
  • Proven experience designing high-speed analog blocks (TX/RX, PLLs, DLLs, SerDes, voltage regulators).
  • Strong fundamentals in CMOS design, circuit simulation, and high-speed analog design concepts.
  • Familiarity with DRC, LVS, and post-layout extraction tools.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience in post-silicon debug and electrical validation; correlating silicon measurements to simulations.
  • Scripting or programming for automation (TCL, Perl, Python, C).
  • Experience modeling and simulating high-speed interface interconnects and channels.
  • Leadership experience and ability to mentor junior engineers.

Education Requirements

Posting references a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, with option for equivalent practical experience. It also specifies experience-based guidance tied to graduate degrees (e.g., 13+ years with a Master’s degree or 6+ years with a PhD). No specific certifications were required; equivalent experience is accepted.
