Analog Circuit Design Engineer
Intel CorporationJob Title
Analog Circuit Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and develop analog and mixed-signal circuits and IP in advanced process nodes. Work across architecture, circuit, and layout teams to floorplan, simulate, verify, and optimize circuits for power, performance, area, timing, and yield.
Experience Level
Entry-level - the posting states this is an entry-level position. Candidates may have up to ~1 year of relevant school, internship, or project experience.
Responsibilities
Primary technical responsibilities include circuit design, verification, and cross-functional delivery for analog/mixed-signal blocks.
- Design and implement analog circuits (DACs, RX/TX front-ends, PLLs, filters, bias circuits, regulators, etc.).
- Create floorplans, perform extraction, and simulate device and circuit behavior (SPICE-level modeling).
- Develop test plans, run verification and validation, analyze results, and close design issues.
- Optimize circuits for power, performance, area, timing, leakage, and yield.
- Collaborate with architecture, layout, and cross-functional teams to ensure robustness and electrical correctness.
- Document design choices, track progress, and report technical status and risks.
Requirements
Key technical skills and experience required or preferred.
- Hands-on analog and mixed-signal circuit design experience (schematic entry, IC layout familiarity, SPICE simulation).
- Experience designing or understanding DACs, RX/TX, PLLs, filters, bias circuits, regulators, and related analog blocks.
- Ability to analyze test data and tune circuits to meet PPA and yield goals.
- Familiarity with industry design conventions and risk-reduction techniques for analog designs.
- Nice-to-have: Verilog-A for behavioral modeling; scripting skills (TCL, Perl, C, Python) for automation and flow integration.
Education Requirements
Must have a Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, or a STEM degree with demonstrated analog/mixed-signal circuit design experience. The posting also allows equivalent experience obtained via coursework, projects, research, internships, or prior roles.
