Job Title

Analog Circuit Design Engineer

Role Summary

As an Analog Circuit Design Engineer on the Central Engineering Group, you will design and optimize analog and mixed-signal circuits for high-performance, low-power IP in advanced process nodes. You will partner with architecture, layout, verification, and validation teams to deliver robust analog blocks for SerDes, memory interfaces, PLLs and related circuitry.

Work includes pre- and post-silicon validation, performance and power optimization, and improving design methodologies for production readiness.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Typical experience guidance: roughly 2+ to 6+ years of professional analog/mixed-signal design experience depending on qualifications and role scope.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, simulation, validation, and cross-team collaboration to prepare analog IP for production.

  • Design and optimize analog circuits for high-speed SerDes, memory interfaces, PLLs, regulators, and clocking circuits.
  • Develop and run circuit simulations, extract key chip parameters, and validate designs against block specifications.
  • Create and execute comprehensive test plans; perform pre- and post-silicon validation and debug to identify and resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with architecture and layout teams to optimize circuits for power, area, timing, and electrical robustness.
  • Perform post-layout extraction and analysis to ensure manufacturability and yield targets are met.
  • Continuously improve design methodologies and automate flows to increase efficiency and shorten turnaround time.
  • Use industry-standard tools for design, simulation, and verification.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • Proven experience designing high-speed analog and mixed-signal circuits (PLLs, SerDes, regulators, clocking).
  • Strong CMOS circuit design fundamentals, behavioral modeling, and circuit simulation skills.
  • Proficiency with EDA and simulation tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, PrimeSim, DRC/LVS, and post-layout extraction tools.
  • Experience optimizing circuits for power efficiency, area, timing, and yield.
  • Ability to develop and execute test plans and analyze silicon results.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience in post-silicon validation, reliability testing, and debugging.
  • Scripting skills (Python, TCL, Perl) for design automation and flow development.
  • Familiarity with high-speed interface interconnect modeling and advanced-node considerations.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers or leading technical initiatives.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field. The posting specifies typical experience expectations tied to degree level: Bachelor's +6 years, Master's +4 years, PhD +2 years of experience in analog circuit design.
