Analog Circuit Design Engineer
Intel CorporationJob Title
Analog Circuit Design Engineer
Role Summary
Lead analog and mixed-signal circuit design for high-speed IO interfaces within the IO Design Team in Bengaluru. Own transistor-level implementation, architecture trade-offs, and silicon validation for critical IP blocks across product development.
Work collaboratively with architecture, digital, package, signal integrity, physical design, and validation teams to deliver production-ready IO solutions.
Experience Level
Mid-level; typically 5β9 years of industry experience in analog/mixed-signal IC design.
Responsibilities
Design, verify, and deliver high-speed analog and mixed-signal IP. Activities include:
- Lead design and optimization of TX/RX front-ends, SerDes building blocks, PLLs/DLLs/CDRs, and clocking circuits.
- Design reference/bias circuits, bandgaps, LDOs, ESD protection, and IO pad circuitry.
- Perform transistor-level design, simulation, corner and Monte Carlo analysis, and post-layout verification across PVT corners.
- Drive closure on bandwidth, jitter, noise, power, area, yield, and reliability targets.
- Collaborate with physical design on layout reviews and post-layout optimization; support silicon bring-up and lab characterization.
- Provide root-cause analysis and correlate silicon measurements with simulation; participate in technical reviews.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team design methodologies and best practices.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; followed by beneficial skills.
- 5 to 9 years of industry experience in analog/mixed-signal IC design.
- Strong CMOS analog circuit design fundamentals and transistor-level design skills.
- Proven experience designing high-speed analog circuits in advanced technology nodes (FinFET/GAA).
- Hands-on experience with SerDes architectures, high-speed IO interfaces, PLL/DLL/CDR circuits, and TX/RX analog front-ends.
- Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, and standard analog verification flows; post-layout extraction and verification experience.
- Expertise in corner analysis, Monte Carlo/statistical methods, jitter/noise analysis, mismatch and stability considerations.
- Experience with silicon validation, lab characterization, ESD verification, and reliability signoff.
- Scripting for design automation (Python, Perl, TCL, or SKILL).
- Familiarity with industry high-speed interfaces (PCIe, DDR, USB, Ethernet, MIPI, DP, eDP, HDMI, UCIe) and signal integrity/channel modeling.
- Strong debugging, analytical problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, VLSI, Microelectronics, or a related discipline.
