Role Summary

Lead and grow an algorithm engineering team that develops computer vision, image processing, and machine learning solutions for semiconductor inspection and metrology systems. Drive technical strategy, architecture, and delivery of high-performance algorithms from concept through product release.

Work cross-functionally with product, software, systems, and field teams across India and the United States to deliver scalable, production-ready solutions.

Experience Level

Senior level - requires extensive hands-on experience. Posting specifies 10+ years in algorithm development for large-scale hardware-centric systems and 3+ years of technical leadership.

Responsibilities

Accountable for technical leadership, product alignment, and delivery of algorithm solutions.

• Lead development of inspection and metrology algorithms for wafer and advanced packaging applications.
• Define algorithm architecture, technical strategy, and development roadmaps aligned with product objectives.
• Evaluate and incorporate emerging methods in computer vision, image processing, ML/DL, and high-performance computing.
• Optimize performance for high-throughput production systems (CPU, GPU, parallel computing).
• Establish methodologies for benchmarking, validation, characterization, and performance monitoring.
• Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing team; manage hiring, onboarding, succession planning, and career development.
• Collaborate with product management, applications, software, HPC, and systems engineering to translate requirements and deliver product features.
• Drive resolution of critical customer escalations and field issues; own algorithm lifecycle from prototype to product release.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.

• 10+ years of algorithm development experience on large-scale, hardware-centric systems.
• 3+ years of technical leadership or people/technical management experience.
• Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
• Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional projects and deliver product releases.
• Experience optimizing algorithms for CPU/GPU and parallel computing environments.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience in semiconductor inspection, metrology, or semiconductor equipment industries.
• Hands-on expertise in computer vision, ML/DL algorithms, and imaging systems.
• Experience with GPU programming and high-performance computing.
• Strong technical communication skills.

Education Requirements

Master's degree (MS) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline is specified.
