Algorithm Manager

Role Summary

Lead a team of algorithms engineers responsible for real-time image processing, computer vision, and machine learning solutions for wafer inspection products within the LS‑SWIFT division.

Work with system and product teams to define algorithm requirements, drive integration, and deliver customer‑facing solutions that improve defect detection and inspection throughput.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Typical experience: PhD + 3+ years or MS/MTech/BS/BTech + 6+ years (see Education Requirements for details).

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Provide technical leadership for algorithm design and development for wafer inspection systems.
• Collaborate with system, product, and domain experts to define and meet algorithm performance targets.
• Mentor and motivate engineers; grow technical capability and lead investigative problem solving.
• Represent the algorithms team during system-level hardware and software integration activities.
• Develop, validate, and deploy image processing, computer vision, and machine learning algorithms.
• Support software quality, reliability, and the development lifecycle.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

• Strong background in image processing and computer vision.
• Working knowledge of machine learning and deep learning techniques.
• Proficient in C/C++ and MATLAB; experience on Unix/Linux platforms.
• Hands-on experience with object-oriented and/or functional programming.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and collaboration skills with emerging technical leadership capability.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with Python and ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow).

Education Requirements

PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics with 3+ years of relevant experience; or MTech/MS/BTech/BS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with 6+ years of relevant experience. Equivalent practical experience is implied by the stated experience alternatives.
