Job Title

Algorithm Engineer - Deep Learning

Role Summary

Develop and deploy deep learning, foundation-model, and GenAI solutions for image processing and computer vision used in semiconductor process control. The role covers the full model lifecycle from concept and prototyping to optimization and production deployment, with strong emphasis on performance, efficiency, and scalability.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Minimum qualifications listed by the employer: Doctorate (0 years related experience) or Master’s degree with 3 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Survey and apply state-of-the-art deep learning and GenAI models to domain problems.
  • Translate product feature requirements into modeling requirements and architecture designs.
  • Implement prototypes, train and tune models on domain datasets, and validate against metrics.
  • Analyze performance bottlenecks and optimize model throughput, latency, and cost.
  • Design and optimize architectures, backbones, and compression techniques (e.g., distillation).
  • Implement mixed-precision and low-precision training/inference optimizations (e.g., FP16, FP8).
  • Collaborate across engineering and product teams; present technical results to stakeholders.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • In-depth hands-on experience with deep learning for object detection, segmentation, or related computer vision/image-processing tasks.
  • Proficiency in Python and at least one additional language such as C++, Java, Rust, or Go.
  • Proficiency with at least one DL framework (PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, or equivalent).
  • Practical experience optimizing models for reduced/mixed precision (FP16, FP8) and model compression/distillation.
  • Demonstrated technical impact via publications, patents, or significant open-source contributions.
  • Experience deploying models with attention to efficiency, scalability, and production constraints.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with vision foundation models (VFM), vision-language models (VLM), GenAI coding tools (e.g., "vibe coding"), and semiconductor process-control domain experience.

Education Requirements

Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related quantitative field preferred. Alternate minimum: Master’s degree plus 3 years of related work experience. Fields mentioned include Electrical Engineering and Computer Science; employer specifies quantitative or related technical fields.
