Job Title

AIG Power Delivery Pathfinding Researcher

Role Summary

Research engineer/scientist in circuits focused on developing next-generation power delivery IPs (analog, mixed-signal, digital) for AI and datacenter products. Work involves research, circuit design and analysis, prototyping (test chips), and collaboration with product teams, academia, and industry partners.

Experience Level

Entry-level / College Grad. Typical experience guidance: MS + 1 year of relevant experience or PhD with no additional experience required; role suited to early-career researchers.

Responsibilities

Lead and execute research and development activities to create power delivery IP and prototypes.

  • Develop, implement, and execute scientific research projects on analog, mixed-signal, and digital circuit techniques for power delivery IPs.
  • Design new IPs and features to improve efficiency, power density, bandwidth, input-voltage range, and transient response.
  • Perform circuit analysis, simulation, design verification, testing, and debugging of fabricated circuits and test chips.
  • Research and propose techniques for superior form-factor and handling fast load transients.
  • Partner with product and design teams to define requirements and assess feasibility of new technologies.
  • Conduct topology and competitive analyses and develop proofs-of-concept or prototypes.
  • Collaborate with external academic and industry partners and disseminate results via publications and patents.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for initial consideration; preferred items listed separately.

  • Must-have: Proficiency in power delivery topologies (switched-capacitor, inductor buck, linear, hybrid) with hands-on ability to perform detailed design, analysis, and use simulation tools.
  • Must-have: Strong expertise in analog electronics, semiconductor device physics, or fundamental electrical engineering principles.
  • Must-have: Practical experience with circuit testing, signal and power integrity, and analog behavior modeling.
  • Nice-to-have: Track record of solving complex problems and developing innovative circuit techniques.
  • Nice-to-have: Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional and external partnership work.
  • Nice-to-have: Contributions to scientific publications, patents, or industry collaborations.

Education Requirements

MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering plus 1+ years of experience, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with no additional experience required. (Degrees and fields specified by employer.)
