AI TLM Performance Modeling
QualcommJob Title
AI TLM Performance Modeling
Role Summary
Build and maintain performance-modeling platforms and tools for Qualcomm SoC hardware targeting AI and cloud data‑server applications. The role analyzes and validates LLMs and other AI workloads to guide architecture decisions and optimize performance, power, and system tradeoffs.
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team of hardware and systems engineers to design, implement, and test models and workflows that improve ML framework and accelerator efficiency.
Experience Level
Mid-level (typical candidate: ~3–7 years of relevant experience).
Responsibilities
Primary duties include developing modeling platforms, analyzing AI workloads, and collaborating across hardware/software teams.
- Design, develop, and maintain performance models and simulation platforms (SystemC/TLM2.0 and related tools).
- Analyze and validate LLMs and ML workloads to characterize performance and power behavior on SoC platforms.
- Identify architectural tradeoffs and recommend optimizations for accelerators, memory/controller and interconnect subsystems.
- Integrate and profile ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) and measure end‑to‑end workload performance.
- Collaborate with hardware, RTL, compiler and systems teams to drive cross‑domain improvements and validate changes.
- Develop test benches and automated workflows for performance measurement and regression analysis.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and domain experience.
- Proficient in Python and C/C++ programming.
- Hands-on experience with SystemC and TLM2.0 modeling.
- Experience in SoC architecture, DDR memory controller and NOC design/modeling.
- Familiarity with AI workloads and LLMs; experience with ML accelerator architectures.
- Practical experience with TensorFlow and PyTorch and performance profiling of ML networks.
- Understanding of computer architecture, DSP architecture, and RTL design/modeling/verification.
- Experience with compiler frameworks such as LLVM or GCC.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field plus 4+ years of relevant hardware/software/systems engineering experience; OR Master's degree plus 3+ years; OR PhD plus 2+ years. Equivalent practical experience considered.
