Job Title

AI Software Engineer - C++/Python

Role Summary

Work on ExecuTorch, PyTorch's framework for running AI models efficiently on edge devices. The role spans Python developer tooling, model transformations, ahead-of-time compilation and portable C++ runtimes with hardware-accelerated backends.

The team focuses on profiling and improving latency, memory use, cycle count and power efficiency across Mali GPUs, Cortex-A/Cortex-M CPUs and Ethos-U NPUs. No relocation package is offered for this role.

Experience Level

Mid-level (experienced software engineer). The posting requests professional experience but does not specify required years of experience.

Responsibilities

Contribute to compiler, runtime and tooling components and drive performance improvements across the stack.

  • Develop and optimise ExecuTorch components: Python APIs, model transformations, C/C++ runtimes.
  • Profile AI workloads to identify bottlenecks and improve latency, memory, cycle count and power efficiency.
  • Implement and optimise backends for Mali GPUs, Cortex-A/Cortex-M CPUs, Ethos-U NPUs and other edge platforms.
  • Take technical ideas from concept through delivery, collaborating with internal teams and the PyTorch open-source community.
  • Share knowledge and mentor colleagues as appropriate.

Requirements

Key technical and professional qualifications required and desirable for the role.

Must-have:

  • Professional software engineering experience using C++ and Python; capable of developing, debugging and maintaining production-quality software.
  • Experience or strong knowledge in programming, compilers, runtimes or performance optimisation and practical interest in how software executes on hardware.
  • Ability to analyse performance, identify root causes and deliver practical optimisations across software and runtime layers.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively across teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with PyTorch, ExecuTorch or other ML frameworks; ahead-of-time compilers, graph transformation or model optimisation.
  • Experience with embedded, mobile or edge computing, hardware-accelerator programming, Vulkan, or performance analysis tools.
  • Open-source development experience, technical leadership or mentoring experience.

Education Requirements

Not specified.
