Hybrid position based in San Jose, CA. Travel ~10% for conferences and customer engagements. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Early-career (early-career role; typically 0–3 years of relevant experience).

Responsibilities

Core technical responsibilities and cross-functional collaboration expected from the role.

  • Develop AI-assisted workflows to speed creation, validation, and optimization of FPGA and SoC reference designs.
  • Apply AI tools to improve design and verification productivity.
  • Fine-tune, evaluate, and optimize open-source AI models for embedded, edge, and security use cases.
  • Implement and optimize AI inference on FPGA SoCs, NPUs, and GPUs with attention to performance, latency, power, and resource usage.
  • Research and prototype approaches for securing AI infrastructure in enterprise deployments.
  • Contribute technical content: benchmarks, proofs-of-concept, recommendations, and roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with product, field teams, and customers via presentations and technical knowledge sharing.

Requirements

Must-have core skills and desirable additional experience.

  • Hands-on experience in AI/ML engineering, model training, fine-tuning, quantization, and evaluation.
  • Strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals, neural networks, optimization techniques, probability, and statistics.
  • Proficiency in Python or C/C++ and experience in Linux development environments and Git-based version control.
  • Ability to prototype, benchmark, and communicate technical results clearly.
  • Comfort working across hardware and software domains and a willingness to learn FPGA/SoC architectures and hardware-level optimization.
  • Nice-to-have: familiarity with FPGA design workflows, RTL (Verilog/VHDL), High-Level Synthesis (HLS), embedded systems development, edge AI deployment, AI infrastructure security, or hardware-accelerated computing.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent; or equivalent practical experience.
