Advanced DRAM Process Integration Engineer

Role Summary

Join Micron's Technology Development organization to translate novel device concepts into manufacturable DRAM technologies. The role focuses on device physics and materials science to define and integrate next-generation memory solutions.

The engineer will lead integration and experimental work in an R&D fab, analyze device and process data, and collaborate across process development, modeling, and design teams to enable scaling and performance improvements.

Experience Level

Senior β€” requires 5+ years of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include defining and validating device concepts, leading integration activities, and driving experiments to improve device performance and manufacturability.

  • Identify and evaluate novel device concepts and material systems to support scaling and performance targets.
  • Apply semiconductor device physics and first-principles analysis to inform design trade-offs.
  • Lead technology integration, aligning device concepts and process flows into actionable solutions.
  • Design and manage experiments in the R&D fab to optimize device performance and yield.
  • Analyze inline, parametric, and probe data to evaluate operating mechanisms and sources of variability.
  • Collaborate with process development, modeling, and design teams to communicate technical findings and trade-offs.

Requirements

Must-have technical experience and skills for successful performance in the role.

  • Must-have: 5+ years of relevant industry experience in semiconductor device or process integration.
  • Must-have: Strong foundation in semiconductor device physics and process integration.
  • Must-have: Demonstrated record of innovation (patents, publications, or product-relevant solutions) and strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with advanced semiconductor nodes or non-conventional device architectures.
  • Nice-to-have: Working knowledge of semiconductor design, architecture, or R&D pathfinding environments.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with TCAD, physics-based modeling, and materials characterization.

Education Requirements

MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Applied Physics, or a related technical field (the posting specifies PhD or MS).
