Advanced ASIC FPGA Engineer
Role Summary
Join the Idaho Scientific group to design and deploy secure, mission-critical ASIC/FPGA solutions. Work on FPGA design, simulation, verification, and documentation as part of a cross-functional engineering team supporting defense systems.

Responsibilities
Deliver ASIC/FPGA design and verification artifacts and support system integration for mission-critical products.
- Create and execute test and simulation plans to establish functional criteria.
- Define module interfaces and perform detailed device design and simulation.
- Develop architecture, system-level simulation, and detailed design approaches.
- Evaluate and apply FPGA development flow: high-level design, synthesis, place & route, timing, power, and resource utilization.
- Verify test results, analyze performance, and document designs and outcomes.
- Review vendor device libraries and simulation tools; recommend components and technologies.
- Produce engineering deliverables following established standards and processes throughout the ASIC/FPGA lifecycle.
- Contribute to program-level work and help improve ASIC/FPGA engineering processes.
Requirements

- Minimum relevant experience: 5+ years (see Education Requirements for degree-based pathways).
- U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain Department of Defense Secret clearance.
- Proven FPGA RTL development experience in VHDL or Verilog.
- Fluent in embedded C or C++ programming.
- Experience with Xilinx Vivado and/or Intel/Altera Quartus toolflows.
- Strong understanding of ASIC/FPGA engineering processes: simulation, verification, synthesis, place & route, timing and power analysis.
- Ability to create test/simulation plans, verify results, and produce clear technical documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication, analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to learn and apply new information quickly.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree in a related field plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. No certifications were specified.
