Advanced Application Support Engineer (Tessent)
SiemensJob Title
Advanced Application Support Engineer (Tessent)
Role Summary
Provide technical support and application consulting for Siemens Tessent DFT tools to customers. Diagnose and resolve complex DFT-related issues, optimize customer DFT flows, deliver training and documentation, and coordinate with R&D to improve product quality.
This role is part of the Customer Services / Software organization and requires close collaboration with customers and internal engineering teams.
Experience Level
Mid-level β approximately 5 years of relevant experience in integrated circuit design, DFT insertion/verification, ATE testing, or technical support.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Respond to and resolve customer technical support requests for Tessent DFT.
- Analyze customer design data (RTL, netlists), DFT insertion reports, simulation waveforms, test patterns, diagnostic results, and logs to identify root causes.
- Provide DFT flow guidance and optimization recommendations tailored to customer designs.
- Deliver customized customer training on Tessent DFT features and DFT architectures (e.g., hierarchical DFT, test compression).
- Reproduce, document, and report software defects and enhancement requests to R&D with clear reproduction steps and impact analysis.
- Create and maintain user documentation, application notes, FAQs, and knowledge-base articles addressing advanced DFT issues.
- Maintain technical relationships with key customers through regular exchanges and follow-ups.
- Keep current with DFT technologies, IEEE test standards (e.g., 1149.1, 1500, 1687), test methodologies, and IC design trends.
Requirements
Must-have:
- Minimum ~5 years validated experience in integrated circuit design, DFT insertion and verification, ATE testing, or related technical support.
- Strong understanding of DFT principles and methodologies; proficiency using and debugging the Siemens Tessent DFT toolchain.
- In-depth knowledge of the IC design flow (RTL to GDSII) and the impact of DFT insertion at different stages.
- Familiarity with ATE principles and test pattern formats (e.g., STIL, WGL, TDL) and ability to assist with ATE-related test issues.
- Proficient scripting skills in Tcl, Perl, or Python on Linux/Unix for automation and debugging.
- Strong debugging, analysis, and problem-solving skills applied to customer support scenarios.
- Fluent in Chinese and competent in English reading and technical writing/communication.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience applying AI/ML techniques to DFT problems (e.g., test pattern generation optimization, intelligent fault diagnosis).
Education Requirements
Master's degree or equivalent experience in Microelectronics, Integrated Circuit Design, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
