1st Shift Manufacturing Test Supervisor

Role Summary

Lead a team of microelectronic test technicians in ADI's Aerospace & Defense module manufacturing operation in Chelmsford, MA. Drive execution of production, test, quality, and productivity goals on a fully on-site 1st shift schedule (6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday–Friday).

Support process improvement and lean initiatives while coordinating with operations, engineering, planning and other shifts to meet program objectives for low-to-medium volume RF/microwave electronics.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The role requires a minimum of 5 years of electronics manufacturing experience; supervisory or lead experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Supervise daily test operations, ensure product quality and safety, and communicate operational status to stakeholders.

  • Lead and supervise non-exempt test technicians; assign work and monitor performance against goals.
  • Provide training, coaching and hands-on support to the team; organize equipment and fixtures to meet staffing targets.
  • Use MES and visual factory tools to track product status, set priorities, and generate daily reports on equipment and personnel.
  • Troubleshoot routine production and test issues; determine when to stop processes for quality or safety risks.
  • Coordinate daily tie-offs with other shifts and groups to maintain continuity of operations.
  • Enforce safety policies and ensure compliance with quality standards and procedures.
  • Maintain respectful, inclusive team environment and address workplace bias.

Requirements

Key technical, security, and interpersonal requirements for the role.

  • Must-have: U.S. citizenship and willingness/ability to obtain a Secret government security clearance (current clearance holder preferred).
  • Must-have: Minimum 5 years of electronics manufacturing experience.
  • Must-have: Hands-on experience testing and tuning RF modules and using network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, and RF signal sources.
  • Must-have: Knowledge of MIL-STD-883 and IPC-A-610 standards; skilled in microscope use and technical troubleshooting.
  • Must-have: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook; familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
  • Must-have: Strong written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment, and problem-solving ability.
  • Nice-to-have: Prior supervisory or leadership experience; experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Shingo, or other continuous improvement frameworks.

Education Requirements

High School diploma or GED required. Progress toward an AS or BS in Engineering or Business is preferred.
