Working Student - TCAD (Process Simulation & 3D Modeling)
GlobalFoundriesJob Title
Working Student - TCAD (Process Simulation & 3D Modeling)
Role Summary
Support the TCAD (Technology Computer Aided Design) team by running process and device simulations, producing physical 3D prints from simulation results, and helping develop predictive emulation models. Work in an internationally distributed team at a semiconductor fabrication site.
The role focuses on practical simulation work and model development to accelerate process optimization and reduce development time.
Experience Level
Entry-level student role. Suitable for current university students seeking first industry experience; no specific years of professional experience required.
Responsibilities
The main responsibilities involve running TCAD simulations, producing physical models, and communicating results within the team.
- Perform semiconductor process emulation using TCAD software.
- Generate and prepare physical 3D models from process simulation output (3D printing support).
- Support development and validation of emulation models with improved predictive capability.
- Collaborate with international colleagues and present simulation results.
- Work schedule: 15β20 hours/week during term, up to 40 hours/week during semester breaks.
- Start: immediately; minimum commitment: 12 months (preferred longer).
Requirements
Key skills and attributes for successful candidates. Education enrollment details are in the Education Requirements section below.
- Must-have: Interest in TCAD applications and semiconductor process simulation.
- Must-have: Basic knowledge of electronic circuits and transistor physics.
- Must-have: Team-player with good communication skills.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with programming or scripting (any language).
- Nice-to-have: English language skills (written and spoken) and familiarity with standard office software (Excel/PowerPoint).
Education Requirements
Enrolled at a university in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Information Technology, solid-state physics, or a related technical field. A current matriculation certificate is required to support the application.
