VLSI Engineer II / Signal Integrity Engineer
Role Summary
Design, simulate and validate VLSI circuits with emphasis on high-speed PAM4 SerDes used in server and networking products. Work as part of a hardware engineering team and coordinate with internal and external development partners to deliver prototype and production solutions that meet quality, schedule, and cost targets.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Typically requires 2+ years of relevant experience in PAM4 SerDes, VLSI design, verification or implementation.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Design, simulate and test VLSI circuits, including PAM4 SerDes (100G, 200G).
- Develop portions of computer/server architecture and related algorithms.
- Collaborate with management and project stakeholders on design status, progress, and issue resolution.
- Coordinate with internal and outsourced development partners to produce reliable, cost-effective designs.
- Ensure designs meet quality, schedule, and cost goals for prototypes and production.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to less-experienced engineers.
Requirements
Key technical requirements:
- Hands-on experience in VLSI design, integrated circuitry and architecture.
- Practical experience or strong familiarity with PAM4 SerDes technology.
- Knowledge of digital logic, computer architecture and electrical engineering fundamentals.
- Experience with hardware description languages, electronic design automation (EDA) tools, and scripting/programming.
- Familiarity with FPGA tools and prototyping workflows.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and effective written and verbal communication.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in design verification and system-level validation for high-speed SerDes.
- Experience with server or networking system design.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field - or equivalent practical experience. The posting also references coursework or knowledge in VLSI design/concepts.
