Role Summary

Verification engineer responsible for planning and executing verification and validation of multimedia subsystems, with focus on computer vision hardware IP and subsystem integration into mobile SoCs. Part of the Video Systems / HW Architecture engineering team, collaborating with architects, ASIC designers, and software engineers.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The posting requests candidates with practical ASIC verification experience (commonly listed as 2+ years); minimum qualifications allow a range from early-career to advanced degrees with reduced experience requirements.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include verification, integration, and debug of multimedia hardware IP and subsystems.

• Plan and execute functional verification and system validation for computer-vision/multimedia IP and subsystems.
• Design and develop block-level testbenches and verification environments (SystemVerilog, UVM/OVM).
• Implement coverage-driven, constrained-random verification and assertion-based checks.
• Debug failures, perform root-cause analysis, and work with RTL designers and software engineers to resolve issues.
• Automate verification flows and regressions using scripting (Perl, Python, Tcl, shell).
• Integrate and verify IP within SoC contexts and bus protocols (AMBA/AXI/AHB/APB).

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.

• 2+ years experience with ASIC design and verification tools, techniques, and methodology.
• Practical experience with Hardware Verification Languages (SystemVerilog) and object-oriented verification concepts.
• Experience developing block-level testbench environments and familiarity with coverage-driven constrained-random verification.
• Familiarity with verification methodologies such as UVM or OVM; exposure to assertions and formal verification concepts.
• Scripting and automation skills (Perl or Python); proficiency with C/C++ for verification tasks.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with AMBA bus protocols (AXI/AHB/APB).
• Formal verification experience or Assertion-Based Formal Verification exposure.
• Experience specifically in multimedia or computer-vision hardware verification.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field is listed as the baseline.
