Job Title
Verification Engineer - Networking
Role Summary
Join a team verifying next-generation AMD data-center networking ASICs. The engineer will develop UVM/SystemVerilog testbenches, create test plans, implement directed and constrained-random tests, and work with RTL, firmware, and architecture teams to close coverage and resolve issues.
Experience Level
Mid-level. No specific years-of-experience requirement stated.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include planning and executing verification activities across IP-level networking blocks and interacting with cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with architects, hardware, and firmware engineers to define verification scope for new features.
- Create and maintain verification test plans covering interactions with hardware, firmware, and drivers.
- Estimate development effort for tests and test-environment changes.
- Develop directed and constrained-random UVM/SystemVerilog tests and testbenches.
- Debug test failures, identify root causes, and work with RTL/firmware teams to resolve defects.
- Review functional and code coverage metrics and modify tests to achieve coverage goals.
Requirements
Must-have practical skills and expected behavioral traits for successful performance.
-
Must-have: Experience with IP-level ASIC verification and developing UVM/SystemVerilog testbenches.
-
Must-have: Proficiency in Verilog/SystemVerilog and familiarity with simulation-based debug of RTL and firmware.
-
Must-have: Programming ability in C/C++ for test and environment interaction.
- Experience estimating verification tasks, writing test plans, and working in cross-functional teams.
- Strong debugging skills and attention to detail; ability to lead a small team or mentor engineers.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with PCIe and/or Ethernet protocols, network processors, simulation acceleration, and distributed compute workflow automation.
-
Nice-to-have: Scripting experience (Python, Ruby, shell, Makefile).
