Job Title
Verification Engineer (Multiple Levels) — Sophia Antipolis
Role Summary
Multiple verification roles supporting CPU/SoC development at Arm's Sophia Antipolis site. Positions span hands-on pre-silicon functional verification, post-silicon bring-up, and integration of software and hardware verification flows.
Teams work across RTL, testbench development, simulation, and formal methods to ensure correctness and performance of processor IP and subsystems.
Experience Level
Multiple levels are available: Entry (Graduate/Intern), Mid-level, and Senior/Principal. Exact level and years of experience vary by specific opening.
Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities across these verification roles include:
- Develop and maintain verification environments and testbenches for RTL using SystemVerilog/UVM or equivalent methodologies.
- Create, run, and analyse simulation and coverage metrics to verify functional correctness and performance.
- Debug RTL, firmware, and software interactions; triage issues and work with design teams to resolve bugs.
- Automate verification flows and regression suites using scripting (e.g. Python, Perl, Shell) and CI tools.
- Apply formal verification techniques where applicable and collaborate on formal property development and proof runs.
- Participate in silicon bring-up, validation, and characterization activities for hardware/software integration.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (architecture, RTL design, software, validation) and mentor junior engineers where relevant.
Requirements
Core and preferred qualifications typically sought for these positions.
-
Must-have: Practical experience with RTL verification (SystemVerilog/UVM or equivalent), simulation tools, and debug methodologies.
- Proven scripting skills for test automation and result analysis (commonly Python or shell scripting).
- Experience debugging interactions between hardware, firmware, and software in a verification or bring-up context.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative engineering team.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with formal verification, CPU/processor microarchitecture verification, performance validation, or post-silicon bring-up.
