Validation Engineer

Role Summary

Work on post-silicon validation of analog and mixed-signal devices. The role designs PCB test boards, develops automation software and measurement methods, collects and analyzes analog waveform data, and troubleshoots equipment and test systems to ensure devices meet datasheet and compliance requirements.

Experience Level

Mid-level - 5+ years of relevant validation or test engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include lab validation, test automation, data collection, and cross-functional collaboration.

• Design PCB test boards and validation fixtures for device testing.
• Develop automation and data-acquisition software to increase test coverage and reduce collection time.
• Design, develop, and implement methods to measure device performance and compliance.
• Troubleshoot test systems, equipment, and device issues in a post-silicon lab environment.
• Develop and execute detailed validation plans and test procedures.
• Analyze and visualize analog waveform data to evaluate device behavior.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive validation objectives.
• Document results and communicate findings to engineering teams.

• Must-have: 5+ years of experience in validation, test engineering, or similar roles.
• Must-have: Experience in post-silicon validation labs and hands-on troubleshooting of test equipment.
• Must-have: Experience designing PCB test boards and developing automation/test software.
• Must-have: Ability to design and execute detailed validation plans; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Must-have: Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with NI TestStand, LabVIEW, or Python for analog waveform acquisition.
• Nice-to-have: Experience using data visualization tools such as Spotfire.
• Nice-to-have: Experience developing custom validation infrastructures.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (Bachelor's Degree required per posting).
