TSE TE Ops Engineer
Role Summary
Support test-manufacturing operations for module/component NPI and high-volume manufacturing (HVM). Collaborate with Manufacturing, Test Engineering, Process Engineering, QA and cross-functional teams to specify, develop, integrate and qualify test systems and programs.
Main goals: enable new technology, improve yield and reliability, reduce test time and cost, and resolve production test issues.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Minimum ~2 years of backend equipment or test operations experience preferred; fresh graduates are also welcome to apply.
Responsibilities
Primary day-to-day and project responsibilities include:
- Investigate yield toggles and identify program vs process causes.
- Support FOAK hardware qualification (burn-in boards, ovens, testers, motherboards).
- Support legacy device issues: RMA, yield recovery, capacity planning.
- Support rescreen programs for NPI and production and manage NPI stage commit metrics.
- Manage test-time reduction initiatives: schedule updates, tracking test time and retest ratios.
- Analyze new-product test results, including use of AI/analytics for trends and failures.
- Provide logistics support for lot handling (locate/merge/return/load lots into equipment).
- Support AMHS checkout, debugging, and test-result review.
- Participate in site audits and daily production test operations troubleshooting.
- Conduct root-cause analysis and corrective actions using structured methods (8D, problem solving).
Requirements
Required and desirable skills and experience.

Must-have: Minimum ~2 years experience in backend equipment maintenance/engineering or practical experience in test operations; strong problem-analysis and decision-making ability.

Must-have: Hands-on knowledge of backend test/handler equipment and test processes; understanding of electronics, mechanical systems and equipment reliability.

Must-have: Familiarity with test program and equipment communication protocols (e.g., SEC/GEMS, GPIB, information systems).

Must-have: Proficiency with data-analysis and quality tools (Decision Analysis, Risk Assessment, FMEA) and change-management processes.

Nice-to-have: Programming skills (C/C++), Unix/Linux experience, and experience applying AI/analytics to test-result data.

Nice-to-have: Experience with AMHS and production logistics for test equipment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering or a related engineering field is preferred; equivalent practical experience is acceptable. Fresh graduates are welcome.
