Job Title

Transport (RDMA) Silicon Product Architect

Role Summary

Senior architect responsible for defining transport protocols and networking solutions for large-scale AI, cloud, and HPC systems. The role spans silicon, firmware, software, and system architecture to improve data movement efficiency, reliability, and scalability across datacenter fabrics.

Experience Level

Senior level. Typical experience guidelines: 12+ years with a Bachelor's, 8+ years with a Master’s, or 6+ years with a PhD (see Education Requirements for details).

Responsibilities

Drive architecture, design, and cross-team coordination to deliver high-performance transport and RDMA-based communication for datacenter-scale systems.

  • Lead transport architecture decisions for RDMA and other high-performance transports used in AI and cloud clusters.
  • Define congestion management, flow control, and reliability mechanisms to optimize network efficiency and fairness.
  • Architect collective communication optimizations and AI communication primitives to improve application scalability and throughput.
  • Specify interactions between NICs, switches, host software, and firmware; translate workload requirements into deployable designs.
  • Collaborate with system architects, software teams, hardware engineers, and industry partners to drive standards and product integration.

Requirements

Core technical qualifications and skills required for the role. Items are grouped by priority.

  • Must-have: Deep expertise in transport protocol architecture, including protocol semantics, reliability mechanisms, congestion management, flow control, and performance optimization.
  • Must-have: Strong practical experience with RDMA technologies and large-scale deployment challenges (scalability, fairness, resource management, operational resiliency).
  • Must-have: Proven experience architecting high-performance communication systems spanning hardware, firmware, software, and system-level components.
  • Must-have: Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve complex networking issues affecting latency, throughput, tail performance, congestion, packet loss, and workload efficiency.
  • Must-have: Experience translating application and workload requirements into transport and network architecture specifications.
  • Nice-to-have: Practical knowledge of AI/HPC communication patterns, collective operations, NIC and switch internals, and traffic engineering for large fabrics.
  • Nice-to-have: Prior industry leadership or participation in standards/ecosystem efforts related to datacenter networking.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. The posting specifies experience guidance tied to degree level: 12+ years with a Bachelor's, 8+ years with a Master's, or 6+ years with a PhD. No specific certifications were listed.
