Job Title
Timing Closure Expert
Role Summary
Work on high-speed mixed-signal communication chips focusing on RTL coding, simulation, synthesis, timing closure, verification and debugging. Collaborate with analog and digital design teams to implement and close timing for SoC blocks across synthesis, placement, clock tree synthesis and signoff flows.
Prepare test methods, specifications, and evaluation materials; support documentation such as data sheets and demo boards.
Experience Level
Mid-level β requires 5+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include implementation and timing closure of high-speed communication designs and cross-team collaboration.
- Implement RTL, run simulations, and perform synthesis for digital interfaces to analog circuitry.
- Perform timing closure across the flow: synthesis, placement, CTS, and signoff.
- Debug timing and functional issues at behavioral and circuit levels; execute ECOs for fixes.
- Develop verification strategies and conduct timing and PPA analysis using EDA tools.
- Prepare test methods, specifications, application notes, data sheets, and demo boards for evaluation.
- Collaborate with architecture, RTL, DFT, and verification teams to preserve design intent.
- Plan and manage multiple tasks with general guidance; participate in cross-functional design reviews.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred skills for this role.
-
Must-have: 5+ years of relevant experience; thorough understanding of timing closure; systematic problem-solving ability.
-
Preferred / Nice-to-have: Experience defining and driving SoC timing closure strategy across the flow; ECO implementation for functional and timing fixes; PPA trade-off analysis using advanced EDA tools; knowledge of DFT and basic layout aspects; interest in adopting AI/ML techniques and flow automations.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree required (degree level specified). Field of study not specified.
