TestMAX Software Intern

Role Summary

Short-term, in-office software internship on the TestMAX team focused on developing and testing software for EDA-related tools. The intern will work with engineers to implement and validate algorithms and features that support optimization and timing workflows.

Program details: 8-week full-time internship, in-office in Hsinchu, Taiwan, starting July 2026.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Internship (student). No prior professional experience required; suitable for current graduate students.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities during the internship include software development, testing, and collaboration with the engineering team.

• Develop and test software applications using C, C++, and Python.
• Collaborate with engineers to design and implement efficient algorithms and data structures.
• Assist with administration and maintenance tasks on Linux and Windows systems as needed.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Debug and resolve complex technical issues in software projects.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and knowledge for successful contributions during the internship:

• Must-have: EDA domain knowledge (place-and-route, static timing analysis, synthesis, test, or timing closure).
• Must-have: Experience with C++ programming in a Linux environment (coursework or project experience acceptable).
• Must-have: Familiarity with netlist optimization techniques and their application to optimization problems.
• Nice-to-have: Coursework or practical knowledge of efficient algorithm and data structure design.
• Nice-to-have: Basic experience with Linux/Windows administration and participation in code reviews.

Education Requirements

Currently pursuing a master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
