Engineering Intern (Design)
Role Summary
This internship supports the engineering design team working on integrated circuit and/or electronic product design at Microchip's Chandler site. The intern will assist engineers with design tasks, simulations, lab testing, and documentation to help deliver prototypes and design documentation.
The role reports to engineering staff and involves collaboration with cross-functional teams (test, layout, firmware, manufacturing) on assigned projects.

Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities for this internship include:
- Support design engineers with schematic entry, layout reviews, RTL or circuit design, and simulations.
- Execute simulation and verification tasks using EDA tools and record results.
- Build, test, and debug prototypes in the lab under engineer supervision.
- Collect and analyze test data; produce concise test reports and documentation.
- Contribute to design reviews and implement feedback from senior engineers.
- Maintain clear communication with the team and adhere to project schedules.
Requirements
Core expectations and skills:

Must-have: Practical interest in electronic or IC design; basic understanding of digital and/or analog circuits, test procedures, and data analysis. Comfortable using common tools (e.g., basic EDA/CAD tools or scripting for data processing).

Must-have: Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective written and verbal communication.

Nice-to-have: Familiarity with HDL (Verilog/VHDL), SPICE or circuit simulators, PCB layout, Python/Matlab scripting, or prior lab/test experience.
