Test Transfer Project Manager
Role Summary
Lead and manage semiconductor test transfer projects across global manufacturing sites to ensure successful transfer, qualification, and ramp-up of test solutions. Act as the primary interface between R&D, Test Development, Product Engineering, Manufacturing and Operations to achieve quality, cost and delivery targets.
Based in Seremban; the role focuses on industrialization and production readiness for test programs, hardware and methodologies.
Experience Level
Mid-level β typically 5β8 years of relevant experience in semiconductor test engineering, NPI, industrialization, or project management.
Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end test transfer activities and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready test solutions.
- Lead planning, qualification and production release for test transfer projects.
- Drive projects to meet timeline, quality, yield, cost and capacity targets.
- Coordinate transfer of test programs, ATE hardware, and test methodologies between sites.
- Develop project plans, milestones, risk assessments and mitigation actions.
- Manage ECR/ECOs and documentation control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor qualification activities including correlation, GR&R, yield validation and reliability testing.
- Facilitate communication between business groups, R&D centers and assembly/test sites for smooth product release.
- Lead problem-solving for test yield, test escapes, tester utilization and transfer-related technical issues.
- Prepare and present project status, gate reviews and management reports to stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for test efficiency, cost reduction and operational excellence.
Requirements
Essential technical skills, practical experience, and communication abilities required for the role.
- 5β8 years of experience in semiconductor test engineering, NPI, industrialization, or project management.
- Proven experience managing test transfer, production transfer, or NPI projects in semiconductor manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of Automated Test Equipment (ATE), test methodologies and qualification flows.
- Familiarity with semiconductor backend processes and manufacturing flows including assembly, wafer test, final test and reliability screening.
- Experience coordinating cross-site or global projects preferred.
- Strong project management skills: scheduling, resource planning, risk management and stakeholder management.
- Knowledge of quality and reliability processes such as GR&R, correlation, qualification and change management.
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills; ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Nice-to-have: experience working in multicultural/global environments, leadership and ability to manage multiple priorities and tight timelines.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Semiconductor Technology, Physics, or a related engineering discipline. PMP or PRINCE2 certification is listed as an advantage.
