Job Title

Test Operation Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Test Operations team to operate and optimize final and wafer test processes for semiconductor devices. The role is hands-on and focuses on test execution, setup stability, yield improvement, and basic equipment maintenance.

Position is based in Nabern with a hybrid schedule (in-office Tuesday–Thursday; up to two remote days per week).

Experience Level

Mid-level (3–4 years of relevant experience in ATE test operation and troubleshooting).

Responsibilities

Responsible for operating test equipment and ensuring timely, quality-tested product handover to logistics.

  • Execute tests and hand over semiconductor devices according to the production plan and timelines.
  • Operate, support, and optimize final and wafer test operations using probers, handlers, and manual test.
  • Work hands-on with ATE systems (e.g., Advantest, Teradyne, Cohu) and maintain test setups and probing systems.
  • Build stable setups to maximize yield and record results in production databases.
  • Create, analyze, and maintain wafer maps; support probe stations and wafer probers.
  • Perform basic machine and hardware maintenance and troubleshooting.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred skills for the role.

  • Must-have: 3–4 years experience in ATE test operation and troubleshooting for complex production test setups.
  • Practical experience with hardware or machine maintenance and a strong troubleshooting mindset with clear ownership.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Good oral and written command of English.
  • Nice-to-have: Hands-on experience with Advantest, Teradyne, Cohu ATE platforms; Accretech wafer probers.
  • Experience with ATE programming (C# or Visual Basic) and knowledge of semiconductor/electronics production flows.
  • German language skills (beneficial).

Education Requirements

Engineering degree or equivalent technical education, or equivalent practical/technical experience.
