Test Engineer - Power Interface

Role Summary

The Test Engineer will develop ATE test programs, test hardware and characterization procedures for mixed-signal power-management devices. The role supports silicon qualification, failure analysis, yield improvement and releasing products to volume production on a product development/test team based in Dallas, TX.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include designing and implementing test strategies for new DC-DC and power interface products, debugging silicon on ATE and bench, and supporting production release.

  • Work with design team to translate specifications into test plans.
  • Create ATE test and characterization programs and design ATE hardware interface boards.
  • Debug and correlate silicon results between ATE and bench measurements; support failure analysis.
  • Perform statistical analysis of yield fallout, identify root causes and implement fixes; optimize test time.
  • Define and implement test strategy for new products and drive robust, cost-effective test solutions.
  • Develop qualification and production test hardware and software for silicon characterization and volume manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with production/offshore manufacturing teams to offload test programs and release products to volume production.

Requirements

Summary of essential and preferred technical qualifications.

Must-have:

  • Approximately 3+ years of relevant test, characterization, or product engineering experience.
  • Experience debugging electronic devices and circuits and performing device-level test/characterization.
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, sourcemeters, electronic loads).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work cross-functionally and meet project timelines.

Nice-to-have / Preferred:

  • ATE experience (Teradyne Eagle Ultraflex, J750, ETS800) and production-test program/hardware development.
  • Mixed-signal test techniques and experience developing tests on TI roadmap testers.
  • Data analysis with Spotfire, dataPower or other STDF-based tools.
  • Programming/scripting in Python, C++, C#; LabVIEW and TestStand experience.
  • Experience with version control (Subversion, Git) and test hardware offload to offshore manufacturing sites.
  • Experience with yield improvement and test-time reduction activities.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related technical field is specified. (The posting lists a bachelor's degree as the degree level.)
