Job Title

Test Engineer

Role Summary

Develop and validate manufacturing test solutions for IC products at TI's Santa Clara site. The role focuses on ATE hardware interface design, test program development, silicon debug on testers, setting test limits, and driving test strategies that balance product quality and manufacturing cost.

Works with design and production teams to release products to volume production and implement design-for-testability (DFT) for RF and clocking products.

Experience Level

Mid-level — requires a Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering, or a Bachelor’s in Electronic Engineering plus 3 years of semiconductor test development experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include designing, validating, and optimizing ATE-based test solutions and supporting product release to production.

  • Design ATE hardware interface boards (final test and probe cards).
  • Debug and characterize silicon using ATE; correlate ATE results with bench measurements.
  • Create test plans and develop ATE samples, qualification, characterization, and production test programs.
  • Analyze silicon results, set test limits, and perform statistical yield analysis to debug and fix yield issues.
  • Define and implement test strategy and DFT for new RF and clocking products.
  • Work with global production teams to release products to volume production and optimize test time and cost.
  • Perform comprehensive device debugging and design validation to ensure product quality.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience drawn from the minimum qualifications.

  • Experience designing tester PCBs and ATE hardware interface boards (specified minimum experience in posting).
  • Experience developing semiconductor test programs for production and qualification.
  • Hands-on experience with Teradyne UltraFLEX or Advantest V93K platforms.
  • Experience scripting and analyzing data collected from testers.
  • Ability to perform statistical analysis of yield fallout and implement yield fixes.
  • Familiarity with test time optimization and creating cost-effective, manufacturable test solutions.
  • Effective collaboration with design and production teams across multiple sites.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electronic Engineering OR Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Engineering plus 3 years of semiconductor test development engineering experience (posting lists this as the minimum requirement). The posting also indicates a Bachelor's degree level for the role.
