Test Engineer (ATE)
BroadcomJob Title
Test Engineer (ATE)
Role Summary
Join the Semiconductor Test Engineering team to develop production, characterization, and qualification ATE test programs for Broadcom SoCs and ASICs. Deliver test solutions from early silicon bring-up through high-volume manufacturing while collaborating with design, product, DFT, and quality engineering teams.
Experience Level
Mid-level. No specific years of experience stated.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include developing and validating tester programs and supporting manufacturing ramps.
- Develop, debug, and maintain ATE test programs for production, characterization, and qualification on Advantest 93K or equivalent platforms.
- Process and convert patterns from design environments into tester-compatible formats.
- Execute silicon characterization and validation across process, voltage, and temperature corners; analyze results to improve yield and performance.
- Collaborate with DFT, design, and product teams to define test requirements and improve coverage.
- Optimize test flows and methodologies to reduce test time and cost while maintaining quality.
- Drive correlation between simulation, bench, and tester environments.
- Support high-volume manufacturing ramps: address test escapes, yield excursions, and ensure test program robustness.
Requirements
Required skills and experience; listed as must-haves and a few preferred areas.
- Must-have: Strong knowledge of digital and high-speed test methodologies, scan/DFT concepts, and pattern processing.
- Must-have: Hands-on experience with ATE platforms (Advantest or equivalent) and tester program development.
- Must-have: Proficiency in scripting/programming (Python or C/C++).
- Must-have: Solid understanding of semiconductor device physics and characterization methods.
- Must-have: Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with SoCs, AI accelerators, networking, or high-speed SerDes devices.
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with tester load board/probe card design, bring-up, and high-volume production test support.
Education Requirements
Required: BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with related experience, or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. Recent college graduates may apply.
