Job Title
Test Engineer
Role Summary
As a Test Engineer on the Operations Core Test Technology Development team, you will develop production test hardware and simulation flows for high-performance semiconductor devices. The role spans hardware and software: designing and simulating test fixtures, optimizing simulation tools, and automating workflows to release test hardware into production.
Experience Level
Mid-level. No specific years of experience stated; this position reports to a mentor and team lead.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include design, simulation, optimization, and automation of production test hardware and simulation flows.
- Design and simulate test hardware for ATE systems (Advantest 93K, Teradyne UFlex+).
- Perform RF broadband signal integrity and power integrity simulations to balance bandwidth and power.
- Use and improve hardware simulation and automation tools and scripts, including AI-assisted workflows.
- Develop and validate test fixtures using tools such as Keysight ADS, Cadence Orcad/Allegro, and Ansys HFSS.
- Create and optimize simulation flows to accelerate production release.
- Execute bench testing and validation using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and other instruments.
- Collaborate with operations, test engineering, product engineering, design, and applications teams to move projects to production.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and work behaviors.
- Understanding of digital and analog circuit fundamentals (digital communication, analog design, algorithms).
- Software development experience in general-purpose languages; comfortable with Python; familiarity with C# or Java preferred.
- Ability to read electronic schematics and research components.
- Experience with bench test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers) and hands-on debugging.
- Experience applying scripting and AI tools to automate and optimize simulations.
- Strong verbal and written communication to coordinate across global teams.
- May require eligibility to access export-controlled technology; candidate must meet export control requirements.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering.
