Job Title

Test Development Technician

Role Summary

Support semiconductor test and manufacturing operations by ensuring stable operation, maintenance, and quality of test equipment and test hardware. Provide hands‑on technical support to enable NPI qualification, high‑volume manufacturing (HVM), and engineering experiments.

The role works closely with Test Development Engineers, manufacturing teams, and equipment vendors to troubleshoot, maintain, and document equipment and hardware status.

Experience Level

Mid-level (Support). Requires 3+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, test production, or industrial equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities span equipment installation and maintenance, test hardware support, manufacturing and lab support, documentation, and escalation.

  • Install, set up, qualify, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance on ATE systems and lab instruments.
  • Inspect, install, maintain, and repair probe cards, load boards, sockets, and related test hardware; perform basic soldering and rework.
  • Provide hands‑on support for NPI qualification, pre‑validation, tester bring‑up, correlation, and HVM production activities (including tester move‑in/move‑out and line recovery).
  • Identify abnormal equipment behavior and perform first‑level troubleshooting; escalate complex or repetitive issues to engineering teams and vendors with clear problem descriptions.
  • Maintain equipment logs, calibration records, hardware inventory, and SOP compliance; support audits and process discipline (5S, safety).
  • Coordinate with Test Development Engineers and vendors to resolve recurring issues and support engineering experiments.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience; nice-to-have items noted.

  • Hands‑on experience with ATE systems and test hardware (experience with DMDX, ETS88, LT‑XAC is a plus).
  • Experience with handlers (e.g., TEL, Synax) and probe card/load board handling.
  • Basic understanding of semiconductor test flow and manufacturing processes; prior HVM support experience.
  • Basic electrical, mechanical, and electronic troubleshooting skills; soldering and basic hardware repair skills.
  • Ability to follow procedures, maintain accurate documentation, and work in a lab/manufacturing environment.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with equipment qualification, calibration routines, and inventory/usage tracking tools.

Education Requirements

Diploma or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
