Technology Development Engineer Intern (Silicon Photonics) (Jan–Jun 2027)
Role Summary
The intern will support Silicon Photonics technology development under the guidance of a Technology Development (TD) Engineer. Primary tasks include preparing process documentation, assisting with process integration and fabrication, and summarizing and analyzing inline, electrical and optical test data.
This position is part of the Singapore science park site internship program and focuses on hands-on process development and data-driven verification of device performance.
Experience Level
Internship — entry-level role for current Bachelor’s or Master’s students. Suitable for students seeking 16–24 week, credit-bearing industrial experience beginning January 2027.
Responsibilities
Work under the supervision of TD Engineers to advance silicon photonics process development and verify device performance.
- Follow process documentation and operating instructions to fabricate and integrate silicon photonics process development runs.
- Collaborate with project team members to ensure devices meet specifications and verify electrical and optical performance.
- Collect, summarize and analyze inline (e.g., thickness, CD) and test (electrical and optical) data; document results.
- Support EHS requirements and perform work safely and responsibly.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet project goals and timelines.

- Nice-to-have: Demonstrated leadership in projects, competitions or team settings.
- Nice-to-have: Project management skills and ability to navigate ambiguous technical problems.
- Nice-to-have: Interest in applying AI tools and emerging technologies to improve workflows.
- Nice-to-have: Strong self-motivation and a specific interest in silicon photonics technology.

Education Requirements
