Job Title
Technologist β Analog/Mixed Signal Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design, develop, and optimize analog and mixed-signal circuits (amplifiers, filters, oscillators, data converters) for semiconductor and electronic products. Work on teams that integrate analog blocks into larger system designs and support designs from concept through production.
This role collaborates with digital designers, layout engineers, and system architects to translate requirements into validated, manufacturable circuit solutions.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Minimum 3+ years of professional experience in analog or mixed-signal circuit design; 5+ years preferred for more senior responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Key technical and team responsibilities for the role include:
- Design analog and mixed-signal circuits (amplifiers, filters, oscillators, data converters) and produce schematics and design documentation.
- Perform circuit analysis and simulation using SPICE, Cadence Virtuoso, and related EDA tools.
- Conduct signal integrity, noise, and power-consumption analysis and optimize designs to meet specifications.
- Define PCB layout guidelines and collaborate with layout specialists to ensure manufacturability.
- Validate designs through bench testing and characterization using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and other test equipment.
- Troubleshoot design issues, implement corrective actions, and participate in design reviews.
- Support tape-out, silicon validation, yield improvement, and full product lifecycle activities.
- Monitor industry trends and incorporate relevant technologies and methods into designs.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred qualifications listed separately.
-
Must-have: 3+ years professional experience in analog or mixed-signal circuit design.
- Proficiency with circuit simulation tools (SPICE, Cadence Virtuoso, or equivalent).
- Solid understanding of analog fundamentals (amplifiers, filters, signal conditioning) and PCB layout considerations for analog circuits.
- Proficiency with MATLAB and familiarity with Verilog or VHDL for verification and modeling.
- Experience using test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers) and strong analytical/problem-solving skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and experience producing design documentation.
-
Nice-to-have: Mixed-signal experience with data converters, PLLs, or power-management circuits; RF or high-frequency design knowledge; DFM experience; version control and collaborative design tools; DSP background; tape-out and silicon validation experience; low-power design techniques.
Education Requirements
Not specified.
