Technical Solution Director / Senior Director — Manufacturing EDA (Calibre Manufacturing Portfolio Unit)

Role Summary

Lead technical solution development and customer deployments for Manufacturing EDA domains including computational lithography, metrology & inspection, and process digital twin software. Focus on delivering solutions to Tier‑1 logic and memory manufacturers and on executing the technology roadmap.

Report to the Vice President of the Calibre Manufacturing Portfolio Unit and serve as a senior management team member to align product, R&D, and customer strategy.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The role expects extensive industry experience: ~15+ years in computational lithography/Manufacturing EDA, including ~10+ years of hands-on technical work and ~5+ years of leadership experience managing cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include technical leadership, customer engagement, and cross-functional program delivery:

  • Develop market and technology insights across Manufacturing EDA (RET/OPC, metrology & inspection, yield optimization, manufacturing physics simulation).
  • Partner with regional sales and applications leaders to drive strategic customer engagements and secure design and manufacturing wins.
  • Co-define and execute long-term semiconductor process technology roadmaps with tier‑1 customers and research institutions.
  • Monitor competitive dynamics and ecosystem players across foundry, memory, and IDM segments.
  • Collaborate with R&D to architect, develop, and deploy computational lithography solutions for advanced DUV and EUV technologies.
  • Lead Product Engineers and Application Engineers to accelerate deployment, achieve benchmarks, and resolve technical issues.
  • Manage global, cross-functional programs to deliver predictable, high-impact outcomes.

Requirements

Must-have skills, experience, and attributes:

  • 15+ years of industry experience in computational lithography and related Manufacturing EDA domains.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in computational lithography, advanced mask development, or TCAD physics simulation.
  • 5+ years proven leadership managing and scaling cross-functional teams across R&D, product engineering, and applications engineering within global matrix organizations.
  • Deep understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and direct collaboration experience with leading IC manufacturers at advanced nodes.
  • Strong knowledge of the foundry ecosystem or advanced memory manufacturing and experience supporting yield ramp and technology enablement.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in fast-paced, globally distributed environments and influence stakeholders across organizations and geographies.
  • Proven track record driving customer engagement and successfully introducing and deploying new technologies and system-level solutions.
  • History of delivering complex, high-impact programs with strong execution discipline.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Education Requirements

Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline (as stated in the posting).
