Job Title

Senior Principal Engineer, System Architect - Radar Sensing

Role Summary

Lead system architecture and engineering for a next-generation mm-wave radar sensing platform. Work within a cross-functional team of systems, software, digital, analog and RFIC engineers to define requirements, simulate system behavior, and validate hardware and software implementations.

Experience Level

Senior — senior individual contributor with substantial leadership and technical depth.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include system-level analysis, algorithm development, simulation, and field validation for mm-wave radar sensing solutions.

  • Perform system engineering: requirement analysis, end-to-end system-level simulation, and algorithm development for mm-wave sensing.
  • Collaborate with analog, digital, and software teams to define and validate system and architecture trade-offs.
  • Develop advanced radar and communication signal-processing concepts and architectures.
  • Simulate the impact of analog impairments on system performance and provide design specifications to circuit teams.
  • Simulate bit-accurate digital datapaths and specify requirements for hardware accelerators and software implementations.
  • Plan and perform experimentation and field testing; analyze and validate field results against simulations.

Requirements

Required technical skills and domain experience.

  • Extensive experience with MATLAB-based system-level simulation.
  • Experience in radar and/or communications systems design and analysis.
  • Experience with silicon-based transceivers and signal-processing accelerators in embedded systems.
  • Working knowledge of C/C++ and Python for algorithm development and verification.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 15+ years of relevant experience, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 10+ years of relevant experience.
