Job Title
Technical Program Manager – VLSI
Role Summary
Lead technical program management for VLSI engineering by converting manual program processes into automated, measurable systems. Work with VLSI program managers and engineering leads to deliver schedule tracking, resource planning, and program health visibility across the silicon lifecycle.
The role combines program management discipline with hands-on software and AI-driven automation (Python, LLMs, agentic frameworks) to reduce manual overhead and improve execution.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Typically requires 5+ years of engineering experience with at least 2 years of project or program management experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Translate VLSI project management processes into scalable software solutions.
- Design, develop, containerize, and operate AI-driven agents and services to automate schedule tracking, resource mapping, and dependency mapping.
- Partner with program managers and engineering leads to document current processes, define telemetry, and implement automated workflows and dashboards.
- Build internal tools and API integrations using Python, web frameworks, and AI-assisted coding environments to ingest lab and engineering data into real-time program health systems.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for internal project management tooling to improve reliability and reduce manual effort.
Requirements
Must-have:
- 5+ years engineering experience with 2+ years in project or program management.
- Proficiency in Python and practical full-stack development experience.
- DevOps and containerization experience (Kubernetes, Docker) and familiarity with cloud infrastructure.
- Experience or strong interest in deploying LLMs and agentic frameworks to automate operational tasks.
- Ability to assess organizational workflow maturity, add telemetry, and convert manual playbooks into automated systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in hardware project management or exposure to the ASIC/SoC development lifecycle.
- Experience integrating project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Jira) with custom applications and APIs.
