Job Title

Technical Product Manager, Siemens HPCWorks

Role Summary

Member of the HPCWorks Product Management team responsible for translating product direction and customer needs into actionable work for engineering and QA, owning the product backlog, and driving delivery of predictable, high-quality releases.

The role partners closely with Development, Quality Assurance, and Release Management to define epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and release scope, and to follow work through build, test, and release.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” 4–7 years of experience in product management or a technical role in software delivery.

Responsibilities

The primary focus is delivery execution: backlog ownership, sprint planning, release readiness, and technical coordination with engineering and QA.

  • Own and prioritize the product backlog; lead backlog refinement and ensure items are ready for engineering.
  • Plan and coordinate sprints with engineering and QA; clarify requirements and manage dependencies.
  • Define release scope and success criteria; track progress and ensure features are tested, documented, and releasable.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact: clarify expected behavior, support design reviews, reproduce issues, and join customer discussions as needed.
  • Work with platform, DevOps, documentation, and support teams to manage dependencies and ensure environments and tooling are release-ready.
  • Support post-release activities: release notes, known issues, production feedback, and backlog updates from support escalations.

Requirements

Key qualifications and technical skills required to perform the role.

  • Must-have: 4–7 years in product management or a technical role in software delivery; strong working knowledge of SDLC, defect triage, and release planning.
  • Must-have: Experience working with engineering teams using Agile/Scrum (backlog refinement, sprint planning, defining acceptance criteria).
  • Must-have: Practical experience with Jira or similar tools to create and manage epics, stories, tasks, and bugs.
  • Must-have: Strong communication and analytical skills and a customer-first mindset.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with Siemens workload managers (Accelerator, PBS Professional, Grid Engine).
  • Nice-to-have: Knowledge of hybrid on-premises and cloud strategies for EDA workloads and scaling compute to the cloud.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with containers and orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker, Singularity) and experience with high-performance or distributed computing architectures.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related field.
