Delivery-focused Technical Product Manager on the Siemens HPCWorks team responsible for translating product direction and customer needs into epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and actionable tickets. Works closely with Development, QA, and Release Management to manage the backlog, drive sprint execution, and ensure predictable, high-quality releases.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The posting requests approximately 4β7 years of experience in product management or a technical role.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities center on backlog ownership, sprint delivery, release readiness, and cross-functional coordination.
- Own and prioritize the product backlog; lead refinement to ensure items are clear, sequenced, and ready for engineering.
- Plan and coordinate sprints with Engineering and QA; clarify requirements and manage dependencies.
- Define release scope and success criteria; track progress and ensure features are tested, documented, and releasable.
- Serve as the technical point of contact: clarify expected behavior, reproduce issues, and support design reviews and demos.
- Work within the delivery team (planning, reviews, retrospectives) to keep work unblocked and predictable.
- Capture non-functional needs such as performance, scalability, and reliability in acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate with platform, DevOps, documentation, and support teams to manage dependencies and handoffs.
- Support post-release activities: release notes, known issues, production feedback, and escalation handling.
Requirements
Must-have technical and product delivery skills. Preferred items listed separately.
- 4β7 years of experience in product management or a technical role focused on software delivery.
- Proven experience working with engineering teams using Agile/Scrum practices: backlog refinement, sprint planning, and defining acceptance criteria.
- Strong working knowledge of software delivery processes (SDLC), defect triage, release planning, and QA collaboration on test strategy and validation.
- Experience using Jira or similar tools to create and manage epics, stories, tasks, and bugs; use workflows and dashboards to track delivery.
- Strong written and verbal communication and analytical skills; able to convert stakeholder input into clear requirements.
- Customer-focused mindset with a track record of delivering user-centered products in technical environments.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with Siemens workload managers such as Accelerator, PBS Professional, or Grid Engine.
- Familiarity with hybrid on-premises and cloud strategies for EDA/HPC workloads and scaling compute into cloud.
- Knowledge of containers and orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker, Singularity).
- Experience with high-performance computing (HPC) and distributed computing architectures.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
