Job Title

Systems Engineer - IV

Role Summary

Lead design, integration, validation, and optimization of complex semiconductor fabrication equipment across electrical, mechanical, controls, software, and process domains. Work with cross-functional teams to define system architecture, translate customer requirements into specifications, and ensure reliable product delivery.

Experience Level

Senior - typically 7–15 years of relevant systems engineering or complex electromechanical product development experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include technical leadership through the product lifecycle and ensuring system-level performance, reliability, and compliance.

  • Lead multi-discipline projects involving electrical, mechanical, controls, software, and process engineering.
  • Define system architecture, subsystem interactions, and equipment interfaces aligned to product requirements.
  • Translate customer and market requirements into detailed system, hardware, and software specifications.
  • Lead technical design reviews and drive engineering decisions across development phases.
  • Develop subsystem specifications, interface requirements, and maintain engineering documentation and BOMs.
  • Support system integration, assembly, calibration, qualification, and final product testing.
  • Design and execute validation plans, test procedures, and experiments to verify system performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in manufacturing and field environments.
  • Drive improvements in product reliability, manufacturability, and serviceability.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams on component selection and technology enhancements while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience to perform the role.

  • 7–15 years of systems engineering experience in semiconductor equipment, automation systems, or complex electromechanical product development.
  • Proven experience in system architecture, requirements engineering, integration & validation, and root cause analysis.
  • Controls and automation expertise: motion control, EtherCAT, and industrial automation/control systems.
  • Experience with electrical/control schematics, gas panel design, P&ID interpretation, and fluid/gas delivery systems.
  • Component-level knowledge: valves, regulators, mass flow controllers, sensors, actuators, and transducers.
  • Verification & documentation skills: V&V, test planning/execution, engineering specifications, and BOM management.
  • Ability to lead technical reviews, coordinate cross-functional teams, and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel (~10%) and support field activities when required.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience specifically with semiconductor wafer fabrication equipment and reliability engineering.
  • Familiarity with structured problem solving and product validation methodologies.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Controls Engineering, or a related discipline.
