Systems Engineer IV
Role Summary
Lead the design, integration, validation, and optimization of complex semiconductor fabrication equipment. Work across electrical, mechanical, controls, software, and process engineering to define system architectures, translate requirements into specifications, and ensure reliable system-level performance.
Position is based in Bangalore, India and collaborates with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers to deliver manufacturable, serviceable, and compliant systems.
Experience Level
Senior - 7β15 years of relevant systems engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include system definition, integration, verification, and sustaining engineering for complex electromechanical equipment.
- Lead and execute multidisciplinary engineering projects involving electrical, mechanical, controls, algorithms, and software.
- Define system architecture, subsystem interactions, and equipment interfaces aligned to product and market requirements.
- Translate customer and market requirements into detailed system, hardware, and software specifications.
- Conduct technical design reviews and drive engineering decisions during product development.
- Develop subsystem specifications, interface requirements, and complete engineering documentation and BOMs.
- Support system integration, assembly, calibration, qualification, and final product testing; design and execute validation plans.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across electrical, mechanical, software, process, manufacturing, and field environments.
- Drive improvements in reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, and overall system performance; ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
Required and preferred technical skills and experience. Degrees are listed separately under Education Requirements.
Must-have
- 7β15 years experience in systems engineering for complex electromechanical or semiconductor equipment.
- Proven systems engineering skills: system architecture, requirements engineering, integration & validation, and root-cause analysis.
- Controls and automation experience including motion control, EtherCAT, and industrial control systems.
- Electrical and mechanical systems knowledge: control schematics, P&ID interpretation, fluid and gas delivery systems, gas panel design.
- Component experience with valves, regulators, mass flow controllers, sensors, actuators, and transducers.
- Verification and documentation experience: V&V, test planning/execution, engineering specifications, BOM management, compliance documentation.
- Ability to lead technical reviews and coordinate cross-functional engineering teams.
Nice-to-have
- Experience with semiconductor wafer fabrication equipment and reliability engineering.
- Structured problem-solving methodologies and experience with product validation methodologies.
- Supplier collaboration, stakeholder management, and field-support experience.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Controls Engineering, or a related discipline.
