Systems and Hardware Enabling Engineer

Role Summary

Join Intel's Networking Solutions Group (NSG) Customer Experience Support organization to enable programmable Infrastructure Processing Unit (IPU) solutions for major cloud customers. The role focuses on board/platform bring-up, validation, debugging, and delivering customer-facing technical enablement for Ethernet/IPU-based products.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Provide technical enablement and support throughout product development and customer deployment phases.

  • Perform board/platform bring-up, validation, debug, and issue resolution for IPU hardware across development, test, and production phases.
  • Support customers integrating Intel Ethernet/IPU products; provide rapid technical troubleshooting and design guidance to accelerate time-to-market.
  • Develop tools, scripts, and automation to improve debugging efficiency and product quality.
  • Create application notes, user guides, and technical collateral to streamline customer adoption.
  • Analyze customer designs and feedback to provide actionable recommendations to engineering and planning teams.
  • Coordinate with engineering, marketing, and program management to support product ramps, training, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Minimum (must-have) and preferred (nice-to-have) technical qualifications.

  • Must-have: 5+ years of industry experience.
  • Must-have: 3+ years in hardware design, board-level debugging, bring-up, and testing on Intel or ARM architectures.
  • Must-have: 2+ years working with modern computer networking architectures, protocols, topologies, or networking products.
  • Must-have: Hands-on lab experience with tools such as oscilloscopes and multimeters; experience with schematics and layout files.
  • Must-have: Programming/scripting experience (e.g., Python) for automation and debugging tasks.
  • Nice-to-have: Demonstrated experience enabling new products directly with customers and supporting product ramps.
  • Nice-to-have: System-level server or network debugging across hardware, firmware, and software (BIOS, device drivers, embedded firmware).
  • Nice-to-have: Knowledge of Ethernet products/ecosystem for enterprise and data center and understanding of system/board-level tradeoffs for NIC integration (thermal, power, SI, BMC, BIOS).
  • Nice-to-have: System or network administration experience with scaled datacenter workloads (databases, load balancers, web servers, switch configuration).
  • Nice-to-have: Ability to work across time zones and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and customers.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (listed as required in the posting). Preferred: Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related field. (The posting specifies degrees in EE/CE or related fields.)
