SystemC Modeling Engineer
Role Summary
Develop SystemC models for AI accelerator subsystems (compression engines, data movement architectures) to enable early feature validation and performance analysis.
Work closely with architecture, design, firmware, and design verification teams to drive HW/SW co-design and optimize subsystem performance.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Requires several years of systems engineering or related experience working with RTL, behavioral models, and performance analysis.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Design and implement SystemC/C++ models for accelerator subsystems, including data movement and compression blocks.
- Perform performance modeling and analysis to inform architecture and design trade-offs.
- Collaborate with architecture, RTL design, firmware, and DV teams for feature validation and integration.
- Map RTL micro-architecture to behavioral models ensuring functional correctness.
- Reason about pipelines, locking, timing, and interactions to ensure model fidelity.
- Document model assumptions, interfaces, and verification results to support cross-team use.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Strong C++ and SystemC expertise.
- Experience in performance modeling and HW/SW co-design.
- Solid foundation in digital design, RTL principles, and functional verification concepts.
- Ability to map RTL micro-architecture to behavioral models and reason about pipelines, locking, and timing.
- Proven collaboration with architecture, firmware, and verification teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with memory hierarchies and transaction-level modeling (TLM).
- Prior work on accelerator or SoC subsystem modeling.
Education Requirements
One of the following is required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field with 3+ years of systems engineering or related experience; OR Master's degree in the same fields with 2+ years of relevant experience; OR PhD in the same fields with 1+ year of relevant experience.
