Job Title

System & IO Architect - Signal Integrity

Role Summary

Member of the architecture team responsible for early-phase signal integrity (SI) exploration of high-speed memory and system interfaces. Independently build and analyze channel models across package, board, and system, then translate findings into electrical requirements and architectural constraints.

Experience Level

Senior — typically requires 10+ years of experience in signal integrity or high-speed interface design.

Responsibilities

Work at the intersection of SI, IO, package, and system architecture to define scalable interface strategies and requirements.

  • Define SI architectural strategies for high-speed memory and system interfaces.
  • Perform early feasibility and scaling analysis for future data rates.
  • Build hands-on channel models spanning package, PCB, and system-level topology.
  • Drive end-to-end SI co-design with IO, package, and system architects.
  • Translate SI insights into electrical requirements, constraints, and trade-off recommendations.
  • Use AI/LLM tools to improve productivity and analysis where applicable.

Requirements

Must-have technical experience is listed first; preferred skills are noted as nice-to-have.

  • Must-have: 10+ years of experience in signal integrity or high-speed interface design.
  • Must-have: Strong hands-on SI modeling and simulation experience (channel, IBIS-AMI or equivalent workflows).
  • Must-have: Deep understanding of transmission lines, jitter, loss, and crosstalk and their impact on system-level performance.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with memory interfaces or other high-speed IO standards.
  • Nice-to-have: Background in architecture or pre-silicon exploration roles and ability to communicate SI trade-offs to leadership.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience using AI/LLM productivity tools for engineering workflows.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Master’s degree in a related technical field is preferred.
