Summer Internship - Firmware Engineer (Poland)

Role Summary

This is a three-month paid internship (July–September) in Kraków within the BU Short-Range - Software Group. The intern will work on embedded firmware, integrating SDK features into sample applications and supporting development and maintenance of software foundations for wireless protocols and application ecosystems.

The role is project-based, with an assigned mentor and opportunities to contribute to open-source projects and testing activities.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Internship — targeted to university students in their 3rd–5th year (early-in-career).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities during the internship include supporting development tasks and producing reference software for other developers.

• Integrate SDK features into samples and reference applications.
• Design, implement, and test embedded software components.
• Maintain and improve software foundations for wireless protocols and application ecosystems.
• Collaborate in agile development teams and follow version-control workflows.
• Participate in open-source code projects and code reviews under mentor guidance.

Requirements

Must-have:

• Programming skills in C.
• Experience with embedded development and GCC toolchain.
• Familiarity with version control (git).
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Some experience with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).

• Willingness to use AI tools to accelerate development, debugging, and learning.
