Standard Cell Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design, develop, verify, and deliver corporate standard cell libraries for leading-edge process technologies to support Intel SoCs and Intel Foundry customers. Work with cross-functional and external teams to produce high-quality, production-ready libraries.
Experience Level
Entry-level (College Graduate).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities for this role include library design, verification, characterization, and automation.
- Design and implement combinational, sequential, and power-management circuits for advanced process nodes.
- Perform parasitic extraction and optimize designs for power, performance, robustness, and density.
- Develop automation flows for library modeling, validation, quality checks, and reliability verification.
- Characterize libraries for timing, noise, power, and variation; generate front-end and back-end models.
- Build, validate, release, and support standard cell libraries for product teams and foundry customer projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional groups and external customers to meet project requirements and schedules.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and attributes.
- Knowledge of digital circuit design including CMOS combinational logic and sequential element design and layout.
- Familiarity with EDA tools in one or more areas: circuit simulation, cell characterization, logic synthesis, place-and-route, physical design verification, or reliability verification.
- Scripting experience for design automation using one or more languages: TCL, Perl, Python, csh (or similar).
- Experience with Linux environments and common Linux-based development tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, VLSI, Microelectronics, or a closely related electrical field.
